Every model goes through several painstaking steps to become that one-of-a-kind display. Using the highest grade of wood, our craftsmen individually carves dozens of pieces to make up just one model. Constructed similar to fine furniture, parts are mortised then properly secured together to make the structure solid. We use only kiln-dried mahogany and quality materials to ensure our models will not split or crack at the joints.
Before painting, the bare wood is sealed, primed, then sanded to accept the multiple layers of lacquer. From the flap-lines to the ornate figures and symbols, every detail is meticulously applied by hand.
